Invisible Cities Typographic Poster
A typographic poster that explores the suspended city of Octavia from Invisible Cities by Italo Calvino. Two visual directions treat type as both as part of the structure and atmosphere.
The first direction integrates text with geometric forms, using stark contrasts and controlled alignment to echo the tension between the city and the void beneath it. The second direction treats type as a physical element, suspending it within space to mirror the fragile network of ropes and platforms that define Octavia.
Both posters operate as a cohesive system through a limited palette of white, rich black, and a single accent color, along with consistent typographic treatments that emphasize verticality, balance, and instability.
